ANTI RACISM PROGRAMS

“My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together.” —Desmond Tutu

ANTI RACISM CONVERSATIONS

Racism and intolerance continue to cause conflicts and threaten peace. Like every human rights issue, racism compromises the critical protection needs of those affected by it and those most vulnerable to it.

Today, against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic that has exposed stark socioeconomic inequalities and exacerbated hate speech globally, Canada is also witnessing an uprising against systemic, institutionalized and structural racism and discrimination.

The unequal and unjust treatment, the different forms of violence, the economic and social inequality, the lack of opportunity, the racial profiling, the marginalization, the micro-aggressions, the countless daily indignities, and the senseless killing of millions over many centuries have to stop.

We intend to reach out to stakeholders whose mandate is anti-racism and inter-community cooperative efforts to participate in conversations, which will help us engineer an anti-racism strategy.

ANTI RACISM FORUM

The anti-racism conversations must continue beyond our zoom sessions. Hence, we are introducing a forum where you can post your opinions, engage in debates, and suggest solutions.

ADULT AND YOUTH PARTNERSHIP

"Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them." - James Baldwin

It's time that the adults "unlearn" to practice and help eliminate Racism. In our one year of conversations with various personalities and groups, it is evident that we must empower our youth to learn and participate in Anti Racist activities and learning. The approach requires a partnership between youth and adults to help facilitate the youth in this journey.
